The Background
Dundas are a highly respected, multi-award-winning company with a long and successful track record, building high quality stylish new homes across Scotland. Dundas aim to make buying a new home an enjoyable and rewarding experience.
The Challenge
Technical Director, Billy Murphy, had been a user of ProjectVault at a previous company and appreciated the efficiencies and benefits ProjectVault can generate for a business. Billy was the driving force in introducing ProjectVault to Dundas in order to build and improve upon a more manual method of working using internal shared drives and an expansive folder structure.
Managing information could be time consuming, open to human error with duplication of drawings being a common issue.
Bovis Homes needed a means of distributing approved information amongst teams and out to on-site personnel, as well as the means to store and archive planning and project information. Key challenges were to:
- Manage all documents for all projects in one organised, online location
- Multiple projects of varying complexity on-going at any one time
- Currently lack of control and visibility over team members contributing to the projects.
The Solution
By moving the management of project information onto ProjectVault’s online digital working space instantly ensured a higher level of security and access to the information. ProjectVault also generated intelligence around the management of information by providing fast search tools to find information easily, revision control and the tracking of information via a full audit trail.
The Outcome
Today Dundas manage their information in a more organised and effective way, greatly reducing errors by ensuring site work to current version. ProjectVault has also helped to prevent duplicating information and has provided the foundation to cope with company growth with an increased number of projects and complexity of project.
